Excellence in Volunteer Management Series (VMTS)

 

Hands On Birmingham (HOB) is proud to offer an Excellence in Volunteer Management Training Series (VMTS) to our nonprofit partners!

 

This interactive curriculum was developed by the Points of Light Foundation and HandsOn Network. The curriculum focuses on organizing and implementing effective volunteer programs in nonprofit and government agencies.

 

Participating nonprofit agencies will receive a workbook with resources, copies of the PowerPoint slides and templates to support each unit, as well as the opportunity to meet, discuss, and brainstorm how to identify and overcome barriers in volunteer management with their peers.

Cost: 100.00 per student. The class is limited to 10 students.

Unit 1: Planning Your Volunteer Program 

Unit 2: Recruiting and Placing Volunteers 

Unit 3: Orienting and Training Volunteers 

Unit 4: Supervising Volunteers 

 

To receive the most benefit from this training series, HOB suggests that you attend all four units! There will be two units per day with a 1 hour break for lunch from noon-1pm per day where students can either bring their own sack lunch or go off site.
